UI Health Care (UIHC) and WittKieffer have partnered in the search for an accomplished, goal-oriented physician leader to serve as Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) of the new UI Health Care Medical Center North Liberty (MCNL). This individual will oversee the delivery of high quality, safe, innovative, efficient clinical care at the MCNL campus, UIHC’s new Orthopedic Hospital and affiliated clinics.
The ACMO role will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to be part of the nationally recognized UIHC, which currently boasts revenues of more than $3.5 billion and is the only comprehensive academic medical center in Iowa. UI Health Care continues to expand to support growth in their geographical region, with the construction of the UI Health Care Medical Center North Liberty campus. The 60-acre, orthopedics-focused campus features a three-story hospital and five-story medical office building with clinics as well as teaching and research facilities. The 470,000-square-foot facility in North Liberty also includes an emergency department, 36 inpatient beds, 84 exam rooms, 18 emergency care rooms, 12 operating rooms, drive-thru pharmacy, lab and imaging capabilities, and a cafeteria and other amenities for patients, visitors, and staff.
Working in a complex academic medical center and highly matrixed environment, the ACMO in this leadership role will work collaboratively with the clinical departments at the MCNL campus, with MCNL leadership and with the CMO of UIHC and other UIHC leaders in pursuing continuous performance improvement by developing collaborative relationships which meet/exceed expectations while enhancing productivity, operations, patient satisfaction and physician engagement, assuring regulatory compliance and developing a patient-centered team-based culture of excellence in patient care. The ACMO is primarily responsible for planning, directing and monitoring the integration of clinical operations to ensure the implementation of patient/family-centered care that is cost-effective, and quality-driven throughout MCNL and for the transitions between MCNL and UIHC main campus and the health system’s referring partners. This leadership position provides the opportunity to build a patient-centered quality and safety program and to work with leadership to develop workflows that lead to operational excellence.
Appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor and may be on either the Clinical or Tenure Track.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
