The Dunes Restaurant is a family owned business in Nags Head, NC. We are fast-paced, fun, and work like a team. As a 40+ year old restaurant, we are a favorite for locals and visitors alike! Join our team and help be apart of people's great experience and memories that spam family generations. We are a year round breakfast restaurant & a seasonal dinner(March to November)restaurant. We are looking for team players for part time immediate hire as well as full time for the busy season starting soon!
· Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of The Dunes Restaurant.
-Greet guests when seated in your section and suggest drink options -take drink orders and serve while they review the menu
-Answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
· Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
· Take food or beverages orders from guests.
· Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
· Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
· Enter guests’ food orders on a handheld device for transmittal to kitchen staff.
· Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
· Serve food or beverages to guests.
· Describe and recommend bar drinks to guests.
· Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
· Remove dishes from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
· Print and present to guests checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
· Collect payments from guests.
· Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
· Assist host or hostess when needed by answering phones to take to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
· Roll silverware, set up drink stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties.
· Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and paper products.
· Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
· Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
· Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
· Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
· Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
· Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions.
