Embassy Surgery Center is seeking an immediate position for an experienced Surgical Technician. The position is Full Time, Monday - Friday 6am to 230pm with Benefits.


Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Provides exceptional customer service, interacts with patients during care in a compassionate and friendly manner. Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
  • Carries out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures.
  • Assists surgeon(s) as scrub tech during procedures as assigned.
  • Assures aseptic technique is maintained during procedures according to approved standards
  • Assists with patient ambulation to rest room and discharge as requested
  • Maintains cleanliness of O.R.
  • Inventories O.R. supplies, orders and stocks as needed
  • Responsible for proper cleaning and sterilization of appropriate patient equipment.
  • Autoclaves all instruments to specification
  • Performs services requiring technical or manual skills under the direction of circulating RN and/or physician.
  • Checks all equipment/instruments needed, prior to each procedure to ensure proper functioning.
  • Always maintains an orderly and sterile instrument table for the purpose of efficiency; follows department standard set up.
  • Anticipates needs and passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
  • Assists in timely turnover of room between cases including, cleaning, disinfecting and set-up of cases.
  • Follows written procedures for steam sterilization; knows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring.
  • Completes annual education requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
  • Additional duties as assigned


Requirements


  • Current BLS, CPR and ACLS Certification, preferred.
  • Graduate of accredited surgical technology or military program required.
  • Certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
  • Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech background required, prior surgical experience preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team required.
  • Excellent patient care, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous quality improvement, customer service, and team building needs of many different sub-specialties and procedures.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per year
